A Suitable Wardrobe and I write, speak and consult on classic clothing. I am based in San Francisco, but also enjoy traveling to wherever my assignments take me.

It may seem a little odd for someone in my field to base himself in the area that arguably did more than any other to popularize business casual dress, but a generation ago San Francisco was one of the better dressed cities in America and there are signs that it may become one again. All over America, men and women are recognizing that their dress speaks volumes about them, and never is this more true than when they travel abroad on business. A well-dressed man or woman has an instant credibility that people in khakis and casual shoes have to struggle to establish. The challenge is acquiring the information needed to build a professional wardrobe in the first place.
